Costco Sambazon Frozen Acai Packets Review
The Sambazon frozen acai packs are perfect for making a quick acai bowl. Recently I have been obsessed with making smoothies and acai bowls. While I love acai bowls, I had never actually made one myself until I found these frozen acai packs at Costco.
Since this was my first time making an acai bowl, I had no idea if it was going to turn out. Costco actually sells pre-made frozen acai bowls that are delicious. They just don’t always have them in stock.
Now that I discovered these frozen acai packs, I don’t have to worry about Costco running out of the pre-made frozen bows. These frozen packs made the perfect acai bowl that tasted amazing. I will definitely be purchasing more of these in the future.

Recently acai has become very popular mostly due to the acai bowl. Since the Acai berry goes bad in just one day the berry is mostly sold in frozen or powdered form.

Making My Acai Bowl
I followed the instructions on the bag and it turned out perfect. For my ingredients I used 2 frozen acai packs, ½ cup of frozen blueberries, ½ cup of frozen bananas and ¼ cup of unsweetened almond milk.
You could use fresh or frozen bananas, but when you are making smoothie or acai bowls it normally turns out best when you use frozen fruit. The acai packs were easy to open and since they had an easy open tear mark, I didn’t even have to use a knife or scissors.
I simply dumped all the ingredients including 2 frozen acai packs into my ninja blender and then blended it on low for about a minute. After about 1 minute I stopped the blender and then used a spoon to stir up the mix in the blender.
I then blended it for about 30 more seconds on low and then finished it up by blending on medium until it had a smoothie bowl like consistency. After it was done blending I poured the acai mix into a bowl and added my toppings.
I followed the instructions for making 2 servings (2 packs of frozen acai) and it filled this entire medium sized bowl.
Taste
Compared to the other acai that I have tasted, I thought that the frozen acai tasted delicious. It had a perfectly blended consistency. It was also not too sweet, but just right.
I was very impressed with the taste and my acai bowl was delicious. My kids also loved it! Acai bowls are a great way of getting them to eat more fruits and berries.
I topped my acai bowl with fresh strawberry and banana slices, and then added some Ancient Grains Costco Granola.
Final Thoughts
I absolutely love these frozen acai packs at Costco. The flavor and consistency is perfect, and they are so convenient for making a quick acai bowl. Also the entire bag includes 12 servings and costs $12.99 which is about $1.08 per serving.
This is a great deal and way cheaper than buying a more expensive acai bowl at your local acai shop. It’s also nice being able to customize what liquid and berries you use to blend your acai and then adding your favorite toppings.
If you are wanting to try making your own acai bowls then I would highly recommend that you try the frozen Sambazon packs.
