Costco Chicken Alfredo Bake Review
If you are looking for a simple and easy dinner idea then the Chicken Alfredo Bake might be just what you need! I have actually purchased these from Costco quite a few times in the past. When I know I am going to be busy, or I just can’t think of what to cook, they are perfect.

Details
- Costco Item number 40249
- Located in the back of the store by the deli section.
- About $16 USD each ($3.99/lb)
- Made with chicken and penne alfredo.
This Alfredo Bake is one of the store’s pre-packed grab-and-go meals that they sell in the deli section.

What is it made of?
The chicken alfredo bake includes penne pasta, chicken breast strips, alfredo sauce, romano & parmesan cheese, and it sprinkles with parsley on top.
Heating Instructions
The label on the package contains cooking instructions. It says to preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Remove the clear lid. Cover with foil and place onto a cookie sheet on the center rack in the oven. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165 F.
Here is a photo of the label that contains the cooking instructions. I have cooked this bake many different times and I have found that I like to cook mine a bit different than what is suggested on the package.

Cooking the Alfredo Bake
The chicken alfredo bake comes in a foil tray with a clear lid. I removed the clear lid, covered it with tin foil and placed it on a cookie sheet.

Then I put it on the center rack of my oven which had been preheated to 400 F. I cooked it for 60 minutes. After 60 minutes I removed the foil. Personally I am a bit picky about making sure that my chicken is cooked thoroughly.
I am sure it would be fine, as long as the temperature reaches 165 degrees, but I just feel like the chicken is still a bit pink and like to cook it a bit longer. Here you can see a photo of what it looked like after removing the foil.

After removing the foil I put it back into the oven and cooked it uncovered for another 10 minutes. You don’t have to do this, but I just prefer mine to be cooked a bit longer. Here is what it looked like when it was done cooking.

After this I just stirred it up a bit and it was ready to serve. My favorite thing to serve with this pasta is steamed broccoli.
Taste
It definitely doesn’t taste bad, but it’s also not that great. I would say that it just tastes ok. The penne pasta is really good and they are very generous with the amount of chicken that is included in this bake. In my opinion the alfredo sauce is just very plain.

What I loved
I love that the chicken alfredo bake was very affordable for about $15 USD. This container is actually a really big size, so you get a ton of pasta for this price. For my family of four we normally only eat about half of this, and then we have the rest as leftovers. So if you need an easy way to feed a crowd then this might be perfect.
Also, I really love how easy this is to prepare. You just buy it, bake it, and you have a simple dinner in just over an hour.

Final Thoughts
While the Chicken Alfredo bake from Costco isn’t the best tasting pasta I have ever had, I do purchase it sometimes just because it is a quick meal to make.
I love that Costco offers these pre-packaged grab-and-go meals in their deli. If you know that you are going to need a super easy to prepare meal for a busy day, then you might want to give this a try!
