Costco Chicken Quesadillas Review

I love Mexican food! I also am always on the lookout for easy meal ideas at Costco, so when I found these chicken quesadillas I just had to try them.

The pre-made meals in the deli section at Costco are so popular. Since we are all busy, it’s nice to find something that is quick and easy to make for dinner.

I have purchased many of the grab and go meals from the Costco deli, but this was my first time seeing the chicken quesadilla kit, so it must be a new addition.

Other pre-made meals at Costco that I have reviewed are the Street Taco Kit, the Chicken Enchilada Bake, and the Chicken Alfredo Bake.

Costco Chicken Quesadillas

  • Costco item number 11748
  • Most of the kits were priced at about $16-17
  • Total of 8 small quesadillas
  • Located in the deli
  • Rating: 8/10

Inside the kit

The pack includes eight small quesadillas, red salsa, two small packs of Kirkland guacamole, and a small container of sour cream.

One thing that I liked about the quesadillas is that they are really thick. They are not just small thin quesadillas. They are thicker like the ones that you would be served at a restaurant.

The quesadillas are made using flour tortillas and are filled with chunks of shredded chicken and cheese.

I really like that they included the toppings in the package. This is convenient since you never know if you have all the toppings you need at home.

Cooking the Quesadillas

The cooking instructions on the package state to heat 10 oz of oil and cook for 2.5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. To cook my quesadillas I sprayed a frying pan with some olive oil and then let it heat on medium heat for a couple minutes.

Once the pan was hot I added two quesadillas to the pan, covered with a lid, and then cooked them for 2.5 minutes on each side.

Following these instructions, my quesadillas turned out perfect. The cheese was all melted and the chicken was warmed.

Taste

I was very surprised by how good the chicken quesadillas were. Even my son, who doesn’t like any chicken quesadillas that I make, really loved these!

The flour tortillas were warmed up enough to add the perfect crunch to the outside of the quesadilla, and the filling was in just the right amount. Costco was very generous with the amount of chicken that was inside the tortillas. There was the perfect ratio of chicken to cheese.

While the quesadillas were good just by themselves, I added some of the sour cream, salsa, and guacamole onto the top and they were even better. The toppings really added to the flavor.

Final Thoughts

I am happy to say that I really loved these quesadillas! They are so easy to make, come with everything that you need, and taste amazing.

When writing this review, I was trying to think of something that I would change or like to see in this kit, but I couldn’t think of anything. It’s already perfect. Overall I rate this product an 8/10 and will definitely be purchasing again. If you are looking for a quick and easy meal idea, then you should try these quesadillas from Costco.
