The Ice Cream Party Box From Costco Review

The Ice Cream Party Box includes everything that you need to host your own Ice Cream Party! If you are planning any kind of party then you will be ready with this ice cream kit. All you need to do is buy some ice cream and this fun box. 

When I spotted this at my local Costco, I wasn’t having a party, but I thought it would be fun for the kids, so we had our own little ice cream party. Here is everything that you need to know.

When Is the Ice Cream Party Box sold in Stores?

Costco normally sells these boxes right before summer (middle of May) just in time for summer, graduation, and Memorial Day parties! 

They are just sold seasonally, so if you spot these, then you should buy them when you see them in stock. I found the boxes on a display end cap near the snacks and cereal aisles. 

Inside the Box

This box is packed with ice cream toppings and supplies. 

Here is a list of everything that is included in the box:

There were actually a ton of toppings in this box. After opening up the box I was surprised that there were some full size items included also. There was a full size bottle of chocolate syrup, caramel topping, and a full size box of waffle cones. 

I also love that this box comes with clear solo ice cream cups and plastic spoons. The bags of M&M’s and the Mini Gummy Bears are also resealable which is nice if you don’t use them all at once.

Setting Up Our Party Box

To set up our ice cream party we removed everything from the box and placed the toppings into some of the clear plastic cups. 

You can also just add some plastic spoons into each of the little topping bowls so that the kids can get their toppings without touching everything or making a mess. I found that this was the easiest way to make our ice creams. 

I just love that everything including the spoons and cups are included in this box. The only other thing that I used that wasn’t included was an ice cream scoop and ice cream. The kids had fun choosing and adding their own toppings. 

Taste 

Of course it was all delicious! All the toppings tasted so good and made the ice cream much more fun than a plain bowl of ice cream. 

The only topping I didn’t really enjoy on the ice cream was the gummy bears. While the gummy bears were soft and squishy from the package, when I added them to the ice cream they would freeze and were very hard to eat. Even though they were hard to chew they were still really good and I ate all of mine. 

How Many Ice Creams will it Make? 

The box includes about 24 ice cream cups and 12 cones. If you use the clear ice cream cups for toppings like I did, then that leaves you with 19 cups. This would allow you to make 19 cups of ice cream, and 12 ice cream cones, so about 31 total. 

Overall, I would say that this box would feed about 20 – 30. If you are planning a party with more than 19 guests, you might want to buy some extra clear cups just in case some of the guests don’t want the waffle cones. 

While I do think you might need more clear cups, I think that this would be more than enough toppings for 30 people. Since we were having a mini ice cream party, with just our family, we had so many toppings left over. 

I put the toppings back into their original bag and resealed them. The ones that didn’t reseal I just put into some ziplock bags. I put it all back into the box and the caramel and chocolate toppings in the fridge. 

We had so many toppings left over, and I just figured that we will save this box and have some more ice cream parties through the summer. 

Final Thoughts 

Overall the Costco Ice Cream Party Box was easy to set up and delicious! We had so much fun adding our own toppings and having a little party. 

We just used the toppings in the box, but I was thinking that it would also be fun to have some fresh bananas, maraschino cherries, chopped nuts, and a bottle of whip cream sitting out.This would really make it an ice cream sundae party! 

It would also allow the toppings to go farther if you are feeding more than just 20 guests. 

For just $20 I think that this party box is a great deal because it is so convenient and fun. While you could probably buy everything that is included in the box separately for about the same price or even a bit cheaper, the convenience of having everything you need in just one box makes it worth it.
