Costco Office Chair Review (Mesh Desk Chair by Bayside Furnishings)
A few months ago I purchased a office chair from costco. I had actually been searching for an affordable office chair for a long time. Here is my complete review and thoughts on the office chair after using it for the last few months.
To be honest, I really wanted to buy one of the Herman Miller Aeron Chairs but they are over $1000. While I have sat in them before and they are definitely worth the money, this was not currently in my budget.
So I searched around for weeks trying to find something similar in the $80 – $100 price range. I did a ton of research, and read so many reviews. Finally after reading some pretty great reviews about the desk chair, I decided to try it out.
Costco actually has some really great office stuff. I also purchased an adjustable desk at the same time that I purchased this chair.

Costco will sometimes stock this chair in store in the home section near the other office furniture and supplies. I originally found this office chair on Costco online, then I visited my local store and they didn’t have it in stock.
I wanted to find it in-store, because it is actually about $24.99 cheaper than the online price. This chair normally sells in-store for $99 and online it is $124.99.Since I couldn’t find it, I just ordered it from costco.com. It came in one large box and only took a few days to arrive.
After getting the chair it was very easy to put together. It probably only took me about 15 minutes and I did it all by myself.
Office Chair Features
Vented Mesh: The mesh that covers the chair helps to provide comfort and support. It also allows for more air flow, which helps to keep you from getting too hot or too cold.
Tilt-lock / Height Adjustment: On the bottom of the chair there is a lever for adjusting the height of the chair.
There is also a setting that you can twist to set the tilt-lock. This controls how far you want the chair to tilt back.
Fully Adjustable Armrests: The padded armrests are fully adjustable. There is a button on each arm rest that allows you to adjust the height up and down.
The padded part of the arm rests can also be adjusted front-to-back and side-to-side. This helps you to adjust the chair perfectly to your ideal work positing.
The armrests can also be flipped up and out of the way. This is convenient if you prefer not to use an arm rest, or are getting up and down often.
My Thoughts
After using this chair for the last few months, I can say that I am very happy that I purchased it. While it is not a fully ergonomic office chair like some higher end chairs, it allows for basic adjustments, is comfortable and is very affordable.
I love the breathable mesh, I never get too hot or cold and sitting on the mesh is very comfortable. I also like that there is a tilt-lock feature. I have set mine so that the back tilts back just a tiny bit when I lean back in the chair.
This is convenient, because I don’t like my office chair leaning back very far. I also really like that this chair allows you to flip up the armrests if you choose not to use them. While I haven’t needed to really use this feature, it’s nice to know that it’s there.
The chair also is very sturdy, it rolls well, and hasn’t tipped over. Honestly everyone in my house loves it. My kids even want me to buy them the same chair for their desks.
For the price I think that this chair is a bargain, but there are a few things that I don’t like.
Mostly I don’t like that the armrests always move around a little bit. This really only bothers me when I am using them which is not that often.
I think that the reason that they move so much is because they are made to be adjustable.
Since they can slide back and forth, and side to side, it just seems like they are always moving every time that I touch them.
Even with the arm rests moving a bit, I am still very satisfied with my chair. I purchased it to go with my adjustable height desk from Costco and I love them both.
It is the perfect office set up and I am very happy!
Final Thoughts
Overall I am very happy with my chair. It is comfortable, looks nice, and is very affordable for just $124.99.
The only thing that I don’t love about my new chair is that the arms are not very stable. With this being my only complaint, I would definitely buy this chair again.
If you are like me and you want a Herman Miller Aaeron style chair, but don’t want to spend that much then I would definitely recommend this office chair from Costco!
