Costco Kirkland Signature Microwave Popcorn Review
I have walked past this huge box of Kirkland Popcorn at Costco so many times and wondered if it was good. The last time I was there I decided to finally buy it and try it out. Here are my thoughts.

Details:
- Costco item number 9555
- $12.99 USD
- 44 bags in a box.
- Gluten free
I found the box of popcorn on the side of the store near the snack aisles. Like everything else at Costco this box of popcorn is so big! It has 44 bags of microwavable popcorn.

How to Cook the Popcorn
There are cooking instructions on each bag. Here are the step-by-step directions:
- Remove plastic overwrap, unfold bag, and place bag with directions side up in center of microwave.
- Set time for 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minute 30 seconds on HIGH.
- Stay nearby and stop the microwave when popping slows to 1 to 2 seconds between pops.
- Do not let popcorn overcook, since scorching and burning could result.
- Bag will be hot! Remove carefully from the microwave oven and open top of bag away from face by slowly pulling diagonally at corners.

I cooked the popcorn in my microwave for 2 minutes and 15 seconds and it turned out perfect.

Taste
I am actually pretty picky when it comes to popcorn. I don’t like popcorn that is too salty or too buttery. Since this popcorn said that it has movie theater butter, I figured that it would be covered in butter. I was surprised that it didn’t taste too buttery at all.

You definitely could taste a nice butter flavor, but it was just enough to make the popcorn taste delicious, and not overwhelm it. Also, it didn’t taste salty at all. It was just great tasting popcorn.
Almost all the popcorn kernels were all popped after cooking it. I love that there weren’t a bunch of leftover kernels at the bottom of the bag.

This “movie theater popcorn” does remind me of the popcorn that you get when you go to the movies, before they add the extra butter on. I know many people love to add their own popcorn seasonings, and this would be the perfect base popcorn for that since it doesn’t already have too many seasonings like some other brands.
Nutrition
Each bag has about 2.5 servings. One serving size is 2 tbsp of unpopped popcorn and contains 190 calories. Here is a photo of the nutritional information from the side of the box.

Final Thoughts
I think that the Kirkland Popcorn is really good. It has the perfect amount of butter and is not too salty. Also, at just $12.99 for a box of 44 bags is a great price!
This microwave popcorn is perfect for movie nights and this huge box will last a long time. If you are looking to buy some great tasting popcorn in bulk, I would suggest that you give this popcorn from Costco a try.
