Costco Island Way Sorbet in a Fruit Shell Review
These taste so good, you might even feel like you are sitting on a tropical beach! The Costco Island Way Sorbet is so good you will not be able to eat just one.
There are many people that are obsessed with these sorbets. I have even heard of people going to Costco just to buy these. I can’t believe I have never heard of them until now. Even the Costco lady at the door said how much she loved these when she was checking my receipt!

What I Loved
I really love that the island way fruit sorbets come in a real fruit shell. You can hold the half fruit shell that is filled with the sorbet, and just grab a spoon and eat right from it. The product tagline is “The Taste of a Never Ending Summer” and I have to agree that they do taste like summer!

The real fruit shells remind me of the tropical coconuts drinks that they make on the beach that you just drink right from the actual coconut.
Tip: You should first let the sorbet thaw until it is slightly soft but not liquid. This will make it easier to eat, and if you are holding the fruit shell it won’t be so cold on your hands.
Everything Included
Each of the fruit shells are also individually wrapped in plastic and labeled with the flavor on the outside. This makes it super easy to just grab one on the go.

The box of Island Way Sorbet comes with a total of 12 fruity shells in different flavors. Here are each one of the flavors that are included:
- 3 Coconut (in coconut shells)
- 3 Ruby Berry (in ruby grapefruit shells)
- 3 Passionate Mango (in orange shells)
- 3 Pomegranate-Lemon (in lemon shells)
Taste
I wasn’t really sure how much I would like these because some sorbets are very sour and don’t taste that great. I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted all the flavors and they were so good. They were not bitter or sour at all.
They were actually some of the best tasting sorbets that I have ever tried. My favorites were the Passionate Mango and the Ruby Berry flavors.

These sorbets were a bit more creamy than other sorbets. It does say that they add a touch of cream to them. That might be what makes them taste so good!
Passionate Mango
The Passionate Mango tasted so tropical and fruity. This one contains ingredients such as mango juice, orange juice, and passionfruit. I could really taste the mango and the passionfruit. This one is a bit smaller in size and comes in a frozen orange shell.

Pomegranate-Lemon
The Pomegranate Lemon is also very good. This one contains a mix of ingredients and juices that included; apple, pomegranate, lemon, aronia, and raspberry. It comes in a lemon shell and is also a bit smaller in size. I could definitely taste the pomegranate and raspberry with a hint of lemon.

Ruby Berry
The Ruby Berry is another one of my favorites. It was also my kids favorite. This one is one of the larger sorbets in the box, as it comes in a ruby grapefruit shell. While I don’t personally love grapefruits, this sorbet doesn’t really taste like grapefruit.

It contains a mix of ingredients and juices including; apple, raspberry, strawberry, passionfruit, beet, and grapefruit. I couldn’t taste all the individual flavors, it was the perfect mix of a berry flavor and the passionfruit gave it a nice tropical flavor. It was just really good! Honestly I would love to buy an entire box of just this flavor. It was by far my favorite.

Coconut
I was excited for the Coconut one the most. Since many people say that this is their favorite flavor. I really loved that this one comes in an actual coconut shell.

It is made using coconut milk, and it tastes much more creamy than the rest of the sorbets. It is also one of the larger ones in the box. You can taste the coconut flavor, and it is very sweet.
The consistency is more creamer and thicker, it reminded me more of ice cream than a sorbet. While this one wasn’t my favorite, if you love coconut and ice cream, you will probably love this!

Nutrition Information
The Island Way Sorbet desserts each have different nutrition facts. The suggested serving size is one shell. Here is the nutrition information from the back of the box.

Final Thoughts
I really love the Island Way Sorbet desserts. After trying them all out, I can now understand why these half fruit desserts are so popular. While I wish there was the option of buying just a box of my favorite flavors (Mango & Pomegranate) at Costco, I will still be purchasing these again soon.
My family loves them so much we have almost gone through the entire box in less than a week. These are the perfect summer treat and I would highly recommend that you try these half fruit sorbets.
I went back to Costco to buy some more, and they were all gone. So, If you see these in stock, be sure to buy a few boxes, because they might sell out fast.
