When I spotted this at my local Costco, I wasn’t planning on camping, but I knew it would be fun to do with the kids. Roasting S’mores is always a fun and memorable experience and this kit made it so convenient.

Here is everything that you need to know.

Costco normally sells these right before summer (middle of May). Just in time for camping and summer nights on the patio!

Making Our S’mores

To make our smores we first roasted the marshmallows. This was my first time using the premium campfire brand of marshmallows.

I thought that these marshmallows were better than normal marshmallows for roasting. They seemed to be more dense, and they roasted easily and didn’t fall off the stick.

I also really loved that these marshmallows were not too big. I thought they were the perfect size for making smores.

They fit on the gram crackers perfectly without spilling over and making a huge mess.

After roasting our marshmallows, we made our s’mores by layering two half pieces of gram crackers, and some pieces ¼ of a Hershey’s Bar.

Taste

The s’mores were so good! They tasted just like you would expect a s’more to taste.

The chocolate and graham crackers were fresh and I really loved the campfire marshmallows that were included. They tasted great and they were so fun to make!

Price

I love that this smores roasting box is so convenient, but is it a great deal? The S’mores kit at Costco is $10.99 and makes 18 S’mores.

I calculated how much it would cost to buy all the ingredients separately from Walmart and it’s cheaper to buy the Costco kit.

A full sized Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar at Walmart is .98 cents ($8.82 for 9). A bag of campfire marshmallows is around $3.50. To get 2 packs of graham crackers you will need to buy a full box which costs about $4.00.

In total if you purchase the same ingredients from Walmart separately then you will pay about $15 – 17. Buying it from Costco will save you about $5 – 7 total.

Not only is the price worth it, but the smores kit is just more convenient and much more fun.

Final Thoughts

If you plan on making S’mores this summer, then I would definitely recommend that you grab a few of these s’mores kits at Costco.

They taste great, are about $5 cheaper than buying the ingredients separately, and are a great way to spend some time together as a family.

I love that they come in a little box with everything that you need. You don’t have to worry about gathering all the ingredients and packing them away.

All you do is pack this box, then when you are ready to roast your marshmallows you know exactly where everything is at.

Just make sure you don’t forget to bring some marshmallow roasting sticks.

Overall, the kids and I had so much fun making S’mores, and this is definitely something that I will be purchasing from Costco at the start of each summer.
