Costco Asian Chicken Wrap Review

Costco has some great pre-made items in the deli department. I recently tried the Chicken and Swiss Rollers and they were so good! So when I spotted the Costco Asian Chicken Wrap, I was so excited to try it.

I have always loved Asian Chicken Salad, I often order it when I go out to eat at restaurants, so I figured that this would taste similar and that I would love it. I am sad to say that I didn’t enjoy these wraps and won’t be purchasing them again.

However, just because I didn’t love these doesn’t mean that you won’t. There were some things that I liked, and some things that I didn’t.

Location in Store

You can find these wraps in the deli section near the other pre-made deli meals. The item number is 18957.

Cost

Costco sells the 2 count chicken wraps for $6.49 per pound. The average price of most of the packs is about $14-15 USD. Each of the wraps are cut in half and the pack includes one container of dressing.

Taste

The wrap itself was very large. I was surprised at how large and heavy each wrap was. They are packed full of ingredients. It’s great that they come with so much food inside, but I find that it does make eating them a bit difficult.

The spinach tortilla tasted a bit soggy and doughy, even though I had tried them the same day I purchased. I also expected the inside filling to have a crunch when I bit into it, that’s the best part about asian chicken dishes, but instead I tasted mostly just chicken chunks with coleslaw.

There are almonds and crunchy noodles included in these wraps, but there were not many noodles in mine, and the ones that were inside just seemed soggy.

I also felt like the chicken chunks were just way too big. I think that they would be better if they cut the chicken a bit smaller. These wraps honestly were not that good, the filling just tasted boring, and the tortillas were too soggy, I really didn’t like them.

It also seemed like there was some kind of dressing or sauce spread on the tortilla and mixed into the filling. I am not sure what it was exactly, but it was just too much.

It’s possible that how good these are depends on how each batch is made. Maybe these ones I bought just didn’t have the right mix of ingredients. I do think that these would be good if there were more crunchy noodles, less sauce coating the tortilla, less coleslaw with smaller chicken chunks.

The one thing that I did really like was the sesame dressing. It was very good, and it did make the wraps taste a bit better. Sadly, I was planning on eating all the wraps, but I ended up throwing them out because they were just too soggy.

Ingredients

The main ingredients are chicken breast made from rotisserie chicken mixed with asian coleslaw and crunchy noodles wrapped up in a large spinach tortilla. The wraps also come with a small cup of sesame dressing. Here is the full list of ingredients from the package:

Final Thoughts

I really wanted to love this asian chicken wrap. It looked so good, and it was convenient to just grab from the deli. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it. They didn’t taste bad (except for the soggy tortilla), but they also didn’t taste good.

They were not crunchy like I expected, and the chicken chunks were just too big, but I did love the sesame sauce that was included. Overall I would rate the wrap a 6/10 and I won’t be purchasing again.

While I love the idea of this wrap and it looked really good, I just think that the mix of ingredients needs to be changed up a bit. I don’t know how long this pack was sitting out before I purchased, but it is possible that it could have been better If purchased the same day that it was made.

Have you tried this wrap? How did you like it?
